GRACE HELP CENTRE

Introduction
Grace Help Centre is a non-profit organisation that serves as a place of safety for women and children that are victims to rape, physical- and -emotional abuse; as well as a shelter for children abandoned by their parents.
Vision
To see our society embrace a culture which promotes the eradication of all forms of violence and emotional abuse against women and children.
Mission
To enhance the development of women in our society by making the authorities and general public more fully aware of the illegality and non-acceptability of violence against women, and through taking action to decrease this crime.
To alleviate the suffering of individual women and children who have been sexually-, physically- and/or emotionally abused, by providing direct counselling and shelter, and referring women to appropriate organisations for specialised treatment, where applicable.
General
Our expenses are approximately R23 000 per month. We do not receive any subsidy for the work we do and rely solely on donations from the general public. 13 of the 17 children currently in our care are of school-going age. Ensuring their schooling requirements, uniforms and transport are catered for is very taxing on our limited financial resources.
